Something to think about:

HAPPINESS ... What is it? It is NOT a feeling, but it is a state of mind! People go on a frantic, endless search for happiness throughout their lifetime.
Think about this ... what would give you the greatest happiness? wealth? wisdom? popularity? more fun and entertainment? a successful marriage? finding new ways to escape reality? If you could have everything your heart desires, you may find moments or even years of contentment, but they could all be snatched away in a few seconds ... without any warning!
One man in history had everything this world could offer, but he didn't find true happiness. He was the wisest, most wealthy and most powerful king on earth for forty years ... his name was Solomon. When Solomon was old he took is eyes off the Lord and then tried many experiments, searching for happiness without God. He recorded those experiments in a book in the Bible called Ecclesiastes so that we could see his conclusion of the matter in writing. Solomon said he was just chasing the wind during the latter years of his life, because there is no happiness for man without fellowship with God.
The apostle Paul suffered many serious hardships during his lifetime, but he learned to be content in every circumstance he had to face. (Philippians 4:11,12)
The writer of the book of Hebrews tells us to be content that we have food and clothing, which are the basic things in life, because if you have believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, He will never leave you nor forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5)
Have you found the happiness God wants to give to you? The choice is yours ... you are free to reject the gift of salvation offered by the Lord and just go through life spinning your wheels, chasing the wind and getting nowhere, or you can believe in the Lord Jesus Christ ... through faith alone ... adding nothing you can do. Only then will you share His life ... eternal life ... and you will find the true happiness which only God can provide. (1 Corinthians 15:3,4) (Acts 16:31)

AVOID THOSE POT HOLES!
As we travel along life's highway, there are many pot holes in the road, but there is also much beauty to enjoy if we will only learn to relax and take obstacles as they come.
There are gates that open the way to two major roads between which we must all choose during our lifetime, and they are described for us by Jesus Christ in Matthew 7:13,14 where He invites every man, woman and child to "go through the narrow gate which leads to eternal life for the few who desire to enter it; but the wide gate which is preferred by the majority of mankind will lead only to destruction and eternal damnation."
If you choose to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and get on the narrow road to life, He will reveal His plan and purpose for your life. To discover that plan you must desire a regular daily intake of God's Word, because that's how He will guide you along life's narrow highway.
What about the pot holes in the road? The pot holes are the cares and worries you will encounter. Worry is a sin, but there are legitimate cares that will confront each one of us that we should solve if we can, and if not, we must learn to let the Lord take care of them. In 1 Peter 5:7, the apostle says you should "cast all your cares upon Him, because He cares for you."
Worry never solves a thing! In Matthew 6:25,31 and 34 Jesus said, "don't worry about what you shall eat or what you shall wear, because your heavenly Father knows you need these things, and He promises if you will diligently seek to know Him and understand His righteousness, all these things will be given to you." (Matthew 6:33)
Matthew 13:22, Mark 4:19 and Luke 8:14 remind us that the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and having a strong desire for the pleasures of this life are some of the pot holes that will choke the Word we hear so it cannot be metabolized and applied in our lives.
We have an illustration of a situation regarding Jesus when He visited the home of Mary and Martha in Bethany when Martha became so wrapped up in serving that she severely criticized her sister for sitting at Jesus' feet, hearing Him teach instead of helping with her work. Then she even accused Jesus of not caring about her, so Jesus said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things; but one thing is needful, and Mary has chosen that good part which shall not be taken away from her." (Luke 10:40,41)
Even though there will be occasional pot holes along our journey of life, we can enjoy the scenery if we will put our faith in the Lord and rest in His promises to take care of us and solve our problems.
"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16)

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHAT HEATHENISM IS ALL ABOUT?
Heathenism occurs after a long period of time that people have heard but have rejected the truth of God's Word. Negative volition toward Biblical truth, or Bible Doctrine, creates a vacuum in man's soul, and into that vacuum come evil or worldy thoughts and teachings that produce liberalism. Both the mechanics and the results of a liberal or heathenistic society are clearly taught by the apostle Paul in Romans 1:18-32.
When enough evil is sucked into the soul of man, the result is blackout of the soul and scar tissue of the soul, making it difficult for a person to even desire God's truth.
Both theological and political liberalism exploit the ignorance of those without Biblical truth by appealing to their emotions, their revolt against established authority and their lust for power and self gratification. Liberals always seek to satify people in the age in which they live by encouraging personal satisfaction of their ego.
Liberals always attempt to use legislation to judge and to change people, but they have neither a Godly system of doctrine by which to do so, nor the mentality nor morality to make it work. Therefore, their ideas can only result in a manifestation of heathenism which has a veneer of human good protecting it.
Heathenism must always try to find a substitute for absolute TRUTH, so both theological ad political liberals attempt to create a pattern of human good by using the Social Gospel in the theological realm, and Socialism, Communism or some other kind of welfare state in the political realm in their attempt to make people depend upon the government for their needs rather than God.
Since heathenism is what results from rejecting the ABSOLUTE TRUTH OF THE WORD OF GOD, there is no acceptable truth in the premise of heathenism, so, if it is unchecked, it can only lead to total degeneracy of a nation. When degeneracy becomes a way of life in any nation, that nation will be removed by the inevitable judgment of God upon it, as in the case of Sodom and Gomorrah. (Genesis chapter 19)
